Flooding in Nashville!
I think I am a natural disasters magnet. When I was in Pittsburgh I got snowed in. It snows all the time in Pittsburgh! But of course the weekend I was there was the most snow anyone in Pittsburgh had ever seen. The strip club I danced at (Blush) had been in business for about 20 years- and the time I was there was only the second time they had ever closed down due to weather. I mean couldn’t it have just been you’re average shitty snowstorm? Did it really need to be the worst one in history?
My Midwestern vacation ended in Nashville. In theory this seemed like a good idea. Flights cost three times as much money out of Evansville, IN as they do in Nashville, TN. Evansville and Nashville are only about 2 hours apart from one another and I have always wanted to go to Nashville- soooo it seemed like a good idea to take a flight home from there on Sunday May 2nd. I was excited to spend an afternoon walking around, possibly buying a new pair of cowboy boots and listening to people talk. Can you blame me? I think southern accents are sexy.
Well the day I came to Nashville was the day the biggest flood in this history of Nashville happened. Of course it was! Nashville must have heard I was coming and made sure to flood it all up for me.
See! Here it is.
As you can see from the traffic lights- that is not a super polluted river. It is a street!
It was obviously too rainy to do any sight seeing- but I did get to see the Parthenon from Misti Dawns car window. That was about all I really did in Nashville. Here it is!
I was worried I would not make it on a plane home- but fortunately the airport was on an un-flooded road and I made it home just fine.
AND THAT my friends was the end of my Midwestern field trip. Next weekend I will be in Miami. Hopefully my presence will not induce a hurricane or something. Yikes!
