Well today I got a call to audition for something “mainstream”, like a mainstream TV show!

I get these calls from time to time, and if I am not doing anything I go to them. This was a call for a TV show that required some “bad ass” looking chick. And since I am soooo bad ass, I figured I should try out.

There was also a role for a gangster they were casting for. Like a mafia gangster type, not like a ghetto gangster from the hood. So when I arrived at the audition there was a whole room full of old men in suits, talking in that New York/Italian accent. Some of them went as far as having suitcases with fake money in them! And some went as far as having fake guns. They were all running their lines with one another and it was just ridiculous. My phone rang with a “Barbie Girl” ring tone way too loud at one point, and one of them looked at me and said “Shut that fuckin’ thing off before I blow it up“. I got scared! But then he laughed and assured me he was just trying to get into character.

I felt a little under prepared. All I did was put on a little tank top that showed off my tattoos. However, the part I tried out for was a lot smaller than the part of the mob boss. So I don’t think it required nearly as many accessories.

The audition was in the Warner Brothers studio. I felt very much like one of the Animaniacs. The lot looked just like it did in the intro credits of that show! Unfortunately I was not allowed to take any photos there at all, what a shame, right. So I have no photos of the gangsters, however, I was able to get one in front of the parking garage which did have the “WB” symbol on it so there is proof this actually happened.

And that was my day today. I thought you would find that kinda humorous. Auditioning for “mainstream” things is so silly. I doubt I will get the part but the experience was a good one!
