My run in with Chris Hardwick

Last week I was a guest on the Greg Fitzsimmons radio show, and podcast with Chris Hardwick. I first met Greg when he was the host of the AVN awards show a few years ago. He is always very pleasant and funny and I think he has been the best comedian to host the show in the past few years that I have gone.

Alright well the day after my night out at the Chicago Sexpo- The next morning I was scheduled to do an interview at a nearby radio station. My publicist usually sets up interviews for me- sometimes I set them up myself… but when my publicist sets something up I usually just glance at the email and don’t read anything else other than the place I need to be at, and the time I need to be there. I saw “Kevin Mancow radio show” – 9am, and an address- so I just got in a cab and was on my merry way. On my way over there I twittered “going to the Kevin Mancow Radio Show!” and then all these people twittered back “why the hell are you going on there” and “that guy is an asshole” etc. I was confused. I did some more research on my phone and realize… oh…. lovely… apparently I am going on some kind of right wing Christin radio show? I then looked through the stream of emails that I didn’t read before and saw that my publicist had been going back and forth with someone from the station and basically my publicist assured his people that I could handle myself.

I was actually quite excited. Sometimes I get bored of answering the same question about why I got into porn, and what my parents think and how it’s possible to have a relationship. No offense to all you people who ask me that all the time…. but sometimes I really just want to install a button in the back of my head that answers all those questions for me while I sit around and like masturbate or something.

For the record- everyone who worked for the station was incredibly nice to me and asked me if I was OK like 1000 times. Someone even made me a cup of very stale coffee, which was actually perfect for my red-bull and vodka hangover.

I went on the air, and Kevin talked about how terrible it was that Sandra Bullock adopted a black baby. I think it’s very funny that she adopted a black baby, since she adopted a black kid in the movie The Blindside… but I am happy for her? And the black baby? I don’t know? She seemed like a good mom with Jessie James’ kid… i think she knows what she is doing. Quite frankly, I would not mind being adopted by Sandra Bullock. He went on and on about how rich people can’t try to pretend they love kids with their money… or something like that. He went from making little jokes about The Blindside which I politely giggled at- to very offensive things about Sandra… and then I stopped laughing. I knew that right wing people were against abortion- I didn’t know they were also against adoption! It was a good thing to know.

Anyways so he introduced me to the show and he did plug my website which was pretty cool. Then he began to tell me that he would never want his kids doing porn, and I told him I would make sure to never hire his kids if they applied. He told me that gonzo porn was really rough and disgusting and women get degraded in it. I told him I have made a few gonzo movies and never degraded anyone, but if there was porn out there he found degrading he probably just shouldn’t watch it. I also said that all porn was consensual no matter how “degrading” it may look, it’s all part of a fantasy and if that fantasy wasn’t for him there was other porn he could watch. He then told me he would never date a girl that did porn, and I told him that it was cool and that no girl in porn would force him to date her. Then I think he asked me if I was a prostitute and I said no.

A few days before I went to Chicago I tweeted about how Jenna Jameson frustrates me so much- because I used to really look up to her and now she is a big mess- and she publicly struts her big mess on TMZ and it makes all girls in porn look bad. Well, coincidentally Kevin pointed out that “Jenna Jameson – like you- thought she was a real business woman and now she is broke abused housewife.” Then I really wanted to crawl across the desk and strangle this guy with a microphone, because while I don’t care if anyone questions my morality or my ability to find love- I do really get offended when people mock my business sense. But I knew this guy was just trying to push my buttons- and I didn’t want him to actually know that he did so I just answered with “I did not manage Jenna Jameson’s finances- I’m sorry” and I left it at that.

Then the same gentleman who made me stale coffee then entered the room and signaled for me to leave. I was confused, but walked out of the room anyway. After we were down the hall he told me they had to cut me off short because some kind of preacher was coming on the air and it probably wouldn’t be a good idea if we were both there at the same time. I don’t know who in the office double booked a preacher and me but that person sure deserves a prize. I hope he was just playing a practical joke!

I was upset because even though I was angry and annoyed- I was having fun. Oh well. Maybe he will have me back sometime?

Anyways after the radio show I met up with Burning Angel girl Phoenix Askani. After the show I got to experience something I never experience when I travel- and that is A DAY OFF!! Every time I go somewhere I am always in a rush and I never get to see anything in the city other than whatever strip club or porn convention I am assigned to go to. SOOOO she took me on a tour of Chicago. I did some shopping at a store called The Alley and got some slutty summer dresses to wear at Miami Exxxotica. I also went to a record store called Reckless Records- and while I was there my phone ran out of batteries. I know it was a day off and all- but I still needed my phone to work. I did not want my mini punk-porn empire to crumble to the ground! So I asked the guy behind the counter to charge my phone… and he said yes. I came back about an hour later to get my phone back and the guy was like “ARE YOU JOANNA ANGEL!” and I said yes. I was very excited that a nice dude who worked at a record store knew who I was so I gave him a free 8 x 10. I do get very happy when things like that happen!

Then Phoenix took me to the place she gets tattooed. It is called Insight Studios. I fell in love with a pair of plugs there that were black with a blue diamond in the middle- and I tried to convince the owner of the store that he should let me trade him one copy of LA Pink for the plugs. He said no. For a little while, I thought he was going to budge- but no… he did not. I was very disappointed. He then told me he would give me half price, but I told him that for half price I would not give him the porno…. I would only give him a smile and a hug. So he got a smile and a hug and $30 and I got the plugs. My smile was very un-genuine though, and the hug was very cold. I felt like I lost a battle! My mom was always very good at bargaining for things and I felt like she would have been disappointed.

Anyways, after this fun day of shopping and what not Phoenix and I drove to Indiana. On the way there Phoenix told me about all the dudes she bangs. I enjoyed hearing about it. Then at some point she told me that being on BurningAngel made her feel OK with being a slut and I was very happy to hear that. I told her she should really call Kevin Mancow and tell him that- I think the story would warm his heart.

When I got to Indiana- I finally got the chance to charge my camera so in the final part of my blog trilogy- in Part 3 of my Midwestern vacation- there will actually be some photos from the trip. Yeeeeehaw!

I have become an expert at losing awards in this past year-at this point, I should really start training other people on how to lose an award in almost every category. I would like to break this losing streak at some point.

My good friends over at TLA Video are having a contest now. There is one particular category I think you all really need to vote for me in- and that is “best starlet blog.” I know I am not the best at updating my blog all the time… but hey… I try? I think I have given you all some good laughs- and a whole lot of free dirty photos on here throughout the years. The least you could do in return is click on a button and vote a few times. As you know- my website… JoannaAngel.com is a website with just me on it. Sometimes other girls are in the videos… but it’s a website all about me. Me me me me me me.
